ECHINOPS
E. retro ‘Veitch’s Blue’
Tall growing perennial with silvery thistle like foliage. Topped with pure round globes of tightly packed silver blue flowers. Makes good structure even after flowering and makes an excellent cut flower.

ELYMUS
E. canadensis
Clump forming perennial grass with arching rye like spikes which bloom in summer and last into late autumn. Has greeny grey foliage and flowering stems.

ERAGROSTIS
E. convula
A native of Africa this hardy perennial grass as masses of fine blades of bright green which resemble an enlarged puff ball. Flowers are even fuller and are borne in late summer.
Looks good planted in groups and with bold foliage plants for contrast.

Sand Love Grass is a North American native with a tuft of rich broad green leaves, topped in early Autumn with a plum of pink-ish brown flowers & seeds. Quite remarkable looking and reliably hardy. Easy in free draining sites in sun.

E. karvinskianus
Prolific Mexican Fleabane producing masses of white daisy like flowers that age pink and purple from June through to October. Loves sunny conditions.
Cut foliage back to ground level in Autumn. AGM

Rosette forming evergreen perennial with long strap like leaves covered in sharp spines. Tall flowering stems are topped with clusters of creamy-white thistle like flowers. Easy in dry sun.

Sea Holly, Native to most European coast lines but now considered endangered. This Dune growing perennial is tough with blueish thistle like spikes of flowering bracts and slightly contorted grey blue foliage. Interesting in full sun and free draining soils.

Blue flowered sea holly. Very unusual boney bracts. Flowers from June to september with heads drying very well. Easy in most conditions. Excellent border plant.

Native to North America where it can reach up to 12ft. Clusters of intense deep pink flowers, fading with age are held above stout burgundy stems from late summer onwards. Cut green foliage. Easy in sun or part-shade.

Native to North America. This form has been selected for its neat clump forming habit and rich blood red stems topped with billowing rosy flower heads. Ovate mid-green leaves.

Winter aconite native to woodland floors of Europe. Collar of furled green leaves with an open butter yellow flower. Spreads from summer dormant tubers. Prefers humus rich soils. Hardy & Easy.
