About Us
Sean Hervey-Brookes
Sean developed an interest in plants growing up on various military base’s across Europe. His passion for propagating plants and studying the way they grow lead to a large collection of plant material which was the prompt behind setting up a mail order plant nursery in 2007.
This has since developed into a more serious enterprise and in January 2009 along side his partner Paul, opened the nursery at the Rococo Garden Painswick which has supplied plant material for a number of paul’s show gardens & design practice.
Sean is expanding the range of plants on offer continually but remains true to his love of herbaceous plants from the Mediterranean & North America.
Paul Hervey-Brookes
First studying at Pershore College of Horticulture he then went on to work in a specialist plant nursery before working with Lance Hattatt at the Arrow Cottage Garden.
From there Paul went on to Study at The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, giving him an amazing opportunity to learn about plants and habitats from some of the most knowledgeable plantsman in the world. Since then Paul has worked in Italy and France before starting to ‘create gardens’ in 2001. Paul is a member of the Institute of Horticulture & the Landscape Institute, he is closely involved with the nursery but also runs a busy design practice.
Paul is available to talk to horticultural groups & gardening clubs. He is a knowledgeable plantsman and can talk on a wide range of subjects including horticulture, garden design and garden design history. Paul is co-owner of the nursery but also runs a busy garden design practice, Paul Hervey-Brookes Associates.
