FERULA

F. vulgare

Green fennel.  May highly overlooked but worth growing for a bit of froth in the border.  Producing masses of golden yellow umbel  flowers throughout summer.

F.  vulgare ‘Bronze Form’

Bronze Fennel.  Fine feathery foliage tinged bronze.  Produces a mass of golden yellow umbel flowers from July to August.  Looks fantastic left over winter when the stems have all dried with a frost.  Easy in a sunny position.

FOENICULUM

F. communis

Giant Mediterranean Fennel is a monotypic Mediterranean perennial with an impressively tall inflorescence above most ornamental, very large, finely dissected leaves. For a any rich, well drained soil in a protected spot in full sun. Collect seed or do not allow to set seed to prolong its life.

FRAGARIA

F. vesca

The Alpine strawberry is surely a must.  Wonderful fresh green cut foliage which makes interesting ground cover and delicate white flowers.  Neat seeded little berries, lovely with a hint of sugar make a nice little home grown snack!
