ILIAMNA
I. rivularis
Native to Western North America. Found growing in moist soils along stream-sides the Mountain Hollyhock is a perennial forming large maple like leaves up to 6 inches across and dense spikes of pink through to pale cream open flowers throughout early summer.

I. remota
Rare and much sought after species native to Illinois. Has an extremely long flowering period from early summer through to autumn. Tall spires of apple blossom pink flowers very similar to english hollyhocks. Large deeply lobed grey-green foliage.

IRIS
I. confusa “Martyn Rix”
Looking more like a bamboo this very exotic and sometimes tender Iris is well worth any trouble. In May and July produces porcelain like white flowers with yellow and blue spotting which are very orchid like. Sheltered conditions, will tolerate dry shade.

ISOPLEXIS
I. canariensis
Evergreen sub-shrub. Long ovate foliage and large burnt apricot orange flowers held in spires similar to a foxglove. Impressive and very attractive. Will tolerate -1°c meaning a mild winter or ideal container specimen over wintered in the greenhouse.
