OPHIOPOGON

O. planoscapus ‘Nigrescens’

Clump forming much sought after low growing grass.  Fine rich black curving blades of grass form a dense matt.  Foliage is topped with intense purple flowers held along the length of a spike.  Good in a pot or sunny gravel garden.

ORIGANUM

O. kopetdaghense

A rare species native to the rocky crevices of the Kopet Dag mountain in Eastern Turkey.  Makes small flat ovate leaves, highly fragrant.  Some variation in flower colour ranging from pure white to deep magenta.

O. vulgare ‘Aureum’

Low growing popular herb. 

Stunning yellow foliage which makes it good in planting combinations.

O. vulgare ‘Gold Tip’

Low growing forming a neat mound.  Ovate small green leaves which are all tipped with a golden fleck.

O. vulgare ‘Country Cream’

Perennial herb with aromatic leaves which are variegated cream around the edges.  Pale pink flowers are bourne mid-summer onwards.  Grows well in full sun and poor soils.  Looks lovely in salads and add delicate flavour to any Mediterranean dish.

O. x rosenkuppel

Reputably deer resistant, pale purple peach flowers with silver haired stems and leaves. 

Makes impressive mounds of loose flowering heads throughout mid to late summer.
